(EXCERPT)
Black blood spewing from her womb
covetous children frolicking in corporate toxins her ocean blue breast milk curdled in clots of afterbirth.
Her ovaries won't recycle...oxygen smothered
with slick finger prints of hesitation(Click here for the poem as it is being composed today)
while suckling’s wash breathless on sea shores
we live to ignore our fate.

Somehow our greatest fear
is not the devastation
for the current and coming generation Word on the street...
is NOT the plans for the ocean life that will cease,
NOT of the contamination that can consume
the water we drink but the increase
...in the cost of crab meat.
